                                         2009/10 Season                          

    Junior Greg Day, 130 lbs., placed 8th in the State Finals at the Palace on March
    6th.  He is the second wrestler in the history of Dakota wrestling program to place at
    States.

    The the following wrestlers have been named to the Macomb All-County Wrestling
    Team:

    Greg Day, 130 lbs., 1st Team and Dream Team
    Kenny Seelye, 119 lbs., 2nd Team
    Dom DeRita, 125 lbs., Honorable Mention
    Jeremy Wranosky, 135 lbs., Honorable Mention
    Alex Bloomquist, 160 lbs., Honorable Mention
    Shane McManaman, 215 lbs., Honorable Mention
    Ryan Tilney, 285 lbs., Honorable Mention

    In addition, Greg Day has also earned the All State designation based on his finish at
    MHSAA Individual State Championship.

    They will be honored at the Macomb County Wrestling Coaches Association Banquet
    on March 29th a the Mirage Banquet Hall.
                                                           2010/11 Season

                                                     State Championship

    Each weight class started off with approximately 128 wrestlers at the start of districts. Two of our
    wrestlers finished in the top 8. Join me in congratulating our Dakota High School All State Wrestlers:

    Greg Day 140lbs 3rd place
    Kenny Seelye 130lbs 7th place

    Both boys did an excellent job and represented our program very well. These boys had an outstanding
    season and their hard work paid off.

                                                                  Individual Regionals

    The team sent 7 boys to the regional tournament at L'Anse Cruese on Saturday. In addition to the
    numerous tough teams at our district, the regional added 15 more tough teams including Clarkston
    and Hartland. Join me in congratulating the 2011 Dakota High School State Qualifiers:
       
          Sr. Greg Day 140 lbs (Captain)
           So. Kenny Seelye 130 lbs
           Fr. Jake Johnson 125 lbs

    All three boys will be preparing over the next two weeks around Macomb County. Come out to the
    Palace on March 3rd,4th & 5th to cheer on our Dakota State Qualifiers.

                                                    Individual Districts

    The team sent 14 boys to the district tournament on Saturday. It was a very tough district assignment
    with Romeo, Ford II, Anchor Bay, L'Anse Creuse, Chippewa Valley and Rochester represented. & of
    our wrestlers qualified for the regional tournament next weekend. Join me in congratulating our
    regional qualifiers.

                                                 League Meet Results

    The A team competed in the MAC White League Championship on Saturday against the 7 other teams
    in the MAC White. The boys had an outstanding day winning the team title by 87.5 points. The team
    results were:

    1. Dakota 222.0 points
    2. Port Huron Northern 134.5 points
    3. Stevenson 82.0 points
    4. Utica 79.0 points
    5. Port Huron 78.5 points
    6. L'Anse Creuse North 76.5 points
    7. Grosse Pointe North 63.5 points
    8. Eisenhower 47.0 points

    We had 11 boys in the championship round finishing with 7 champions including Frankie Drogosch
    103, Jake Johnson 125, Alex Bozinovski 130, Kenny Seelye 135, Josh Burnham 140, Greg Day 152,
    Anthony Fiorani 215.

    The B team competed in the JV portion of the tournament and also had a dominating performance
    with 9 boys in the finals. The JV top 4 results:
